Piano lessons that inspire - for young and old

“Once you get the hang of it, it’s actually not that hard.” or “I couldn’t practice because my dad was behind the piano all the time” – statements like these are what I hear regularly during lessons, and they make my job great fun. Playing the piano is a journey full of discovery, fun and personal growth, and I love taking it with my students.

Whether you are 6 or 76, beginner or more advanced: everyone is welcome. I give individual piano lessons to children, teens and adults, tailored entirely to your pace, learning style and musical preferences. No lesson is the same – because no student is the same.

My own musical adventure began on an old-fashioned electronic organ, but when a real piano arrived at home, I was sold. I want to pass on that passion. So: are you ready to make music in your own way? Then I would love to see you behind the piano!

Getting curious? The only way to learn to play the piano or pick up the thread is to start doing it! So…feel free to contact me for a free, no-obligation trial lesson.

Do you recognize this?

Free trial class

During this free and non-committal trial lesson I will tell you what to expect and we will also start working on the piano. This way we both get a good idea: is there a click, and does my way of teaching match what you (or your child) are looking for? I find it important that both the student and I are enthusiastic about the collaboration. Sometimes it just doesn’t fit – and that’s totally okay, too.

The piano is a versatile instrument with which you can go in any direction. In my lessons you will learn:

Varied and customized

Every student is different, which is why I tailor lessons to what you need and like. For beginners, I use teaching methods such as Hal Leonard or Bastien Piano Education. In addition, we work with piano pieces outside the method – for example, from YouTube, or music you suggest yourself. Sometimes we edit these songs together so that they fit your level.

With advanced students, I make a plan of approach tailored to your own level. Here technique, music theory and interpretation play an important role. From my own experience I know that really understanding what you play (structure, meaning, composer’s intention, symbolism, etc.) provides an enormous deepening of your piano playing.

From pop to classical

We play music from a variety of genres: pop music, film music, game music and classical music. Popular piano music by composers such as Yiruma and Ludovico Einaudi also appears regularly.

Looking for piano lessons for your child or teenager? In my lessons, I combine structure with the joy of playing, and connect to each student’s musical interests. The piano is a versatile instrument that allows you to achieve great results at an early age – whether you want to play classical pieces, pop music or anything in between.

Positive impact on development

Playing the piano contributes to children’s development in a unique way. It improves fine motor skills, enhances concentration and helps the brain make new connections. Children learn to cope with challenges, develop more perseverance and build self-confidence by seeing that practice really pays off. In a world where everything has to move quickly, piano lessons offer valuable lessons in patience and focus.

Personal approach

Each child learns in his or her own way. That’s why I tailor lessons to your child’s pace, level and interests. We work with proven methods such as Hal Leonard or Bastien Piano Education. For beginners, the first lesson book is free on loan.

Varied and motivating

In addition to the teaching method, we play music that matches what your child likes – from pop and movie music to game music. Think of well-known melodies by Yiruma or Ludovico Einaudi, for example. We find songs together (for example, via YouTube), or I make an adapted version that suits your child’s level.

Creative elements

There is also room for creativity: vary their playing (such as tempo and dynamics), invent something on the piano yourself, or try a simple improvisation. But nothing has to – the most important thing is that your child enjoys playing and develops musically.

“I’d actually like to pick up piano lessons again” or “I’ve always wanted to learn to play the piano” – these are statements I often hear from adults. My advice: just do it! But yes, in practice this is often easier said than done 😊. You are welcome to take weekly piano lessons. Is lack of time or difficulty practicing regularly a stumbling block for you? Then the flex lesson package might be a suitable solution.

Flex classes

The flex lessons package consists of 10 individual lessons of half an hour. We plan these lessons in consultation, completely tailored to your schedule. This can be every week, every other week, or any other rhythm that works for you. In this flexible way, you can still make a musical start or expand your existing repertoire – so that you are once again full of inspiration behind the piano.
